The handle and sheath are quilted sycamore, with olive side straps. The whole thing has been stained black, then the edges polished back for contrast. The tanto has a brushed copper habaki guard. Large Image |

This tanto has a 6.5” nagasa, hira zukuri blade in 1095 steel, water quenched for uchi-sori (downwards curve, using precise heating and a carefully judged quench). Larger Image |
